APPLICATIONS
PC material
PC (Polycarbonate)
PC is a high-performance material with high heat resistance and high transparency, mainly suitable for high-precision, high-weather resistance, and thick-film UV molding applications. Its most prominent advantage is its strong heat resistance, with a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 130-140℃, which provides a wide molding temperature range and is especially suitable for thick-film molding and high-demand production scenarios.
In terms of optical performance, PC has excellent transparency with a light transmittance of ≥90%, reaching optical-grade standards, making it suitable for the molding of precision optical components. Its surface energy is the highest among the four materials, naturally reaching 60-70mN/m, so UV glue can be directly attached firmly without corona treatment, simplifying the production process. In addition, PC has the best impact resistance and good toughness, which is conducive to the subsequent processing and transportation of products.
The main limitation of PC is its high cost, which restricts its large-scale application. In addition, PC is prone to creep at high temperatures, so it is necessary to strictly control the molding pressure and time during the production process. Some PC materials may have the risk of UV yellowing, so it is necessary to select UV-resistant grades according to the application requirements.
